What is Grounding?
We are energetically connected to the planet we live on and are supported by. That relationship keeps us balanced and healthy.
When that connection lessens or is not as strong, it causes issues with our health. Our bodies are made to run on the earth's magnetics. Things that make us less grounded are a lot of mental activity, and vibrations such as wifi, electrical wiring, etc. that disrupt the magnetics.
Being grounded means having a strong connection to the planet. There are many ways to do this...walking barefoot, lying on the ground (really good), being around trees, feeling the bottom of your feet touch the ground as you walk, foot massage, & visualizing a strong energetic connection to the planet. In this way, the earths magnetics help our nervous system and entire being.
To do this, you can picture a wide hollow tube or tree trunk connecting the base of the spine to the earth and soles of the feet to the earth. Not to the surface, but down deep to the center and rooting in. When feeling scattered or unfocused, it helps to ground the head/mind and/or heart as well by picturing the connection and feel the flow of life energy.
It is also helpful to feel the weight of the body, feel its heaviness. The body is made of elements earth, water, fire, & air, and when any are out of balance, it will impact us.
So hug a tree, put your feet in the grass, lay on the ground, and say thank you to the planet we live on :)
